The Properties panel in Photoshop is where you’ll find settings that control how your image displays. The list of options in the Properties panel differs from one version of Photoshop to another. However, you’ll always see options that control the way your layers behave, which are covered in the following

Today’s tutorial is all about how to create an animated smiley face using the smiley face template and Photoshop. It’s a really useful exercise for learning things such as the use of layer masks, using a graphic design tool to manipulate a vector image, layer stacking, the use of the transform tool and a lot more.

To create a vector smiley face with the layered PSD template is easy. Using the pen tool, you can draw a smiley face using the smiley face template. After the smiley face is complete, you can use the liquify effect to adjust the shape and size of the smiling face. Using masks is a great way to adjust the shape of the smiley face and create a new face if you want to. You can then add details to the smiling face, such as a beard, hair and ears.

In this tutorial, we will take a look at how to create an animated vector smiley face Photoshop project. The animation itself is made from a layered PSD file that we will be using to create an animated emoji. If you have Photoshop or an alternative application such as Adobe Illustrator, then you can create a similar animated emoji.

The smiley face project Photoshop is a really useful little project that will help you to learn things such as using a vector graphic and creating many different kinds of 2D animation. If you need to make your own 2D vector smiley faces, then check out our other guides.

Create a Smiley Face Project

For this tutorial, you will need a good copy of Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. It’s suggested that you use the latest version of Photoshop Elements or Photoshop since it has more features compared to previous versions such as Photoshop Elements 2013.

Step 1

To create a vector smiley face, first open the PSD file. If you do not have Photoshop, then download it from

Then you need to open the smiley face template. When you open the template, you will see that there is a transparent circle in the middle of the image. This circle represents the face of the smiley face.

Using the pen tool, draw a circle to match the outline of the transparent circle in the template. You can then use the rectangle tool to draw a face outline for the smiley face.

Step 2

After you have drawn the outline, you will need to use the Transform tool and the 3D tools to adjust

Global Human Coalition (GHC) is working hand in hand with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) to help develop UNEP’s Strategies and Action Plans for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The whole world needs to take responsibility to reverse the current trend towards ecological degradation, and towards solutions that are not sustainable, said Nils Daugaard, UNEP’s Executive Director.

In cooperation with the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), GHC has played a leading role in UNEP’s global conference on “People and Ecosystems”. This is the first step in realizing the ambitious global action agenda to tackle the root causes of climate change and ecological degradation. This conference, which took place on June 22-25, 2015 in New York, attracted over 3,600 participants from 150 countries.

In the coming months, the GHC’s Climate Risk Analysis Centre will be helping develop the NZ$ 1.8 billion New Zealand Climate Change Response Plan, drawn up by the NZ Government to protect the country from the increasing impacts of climate change.

“The potential for cataclysmic climate change is building to a critical point, and while we have made significant headway in policy, that is as far as it goes. The hard steps we have been talking about – action for a better future, an economy that is wise and sustainable, and our communities more just, equitable and responsible – that is the challenge we face today,” says Mr. O’Neill.

This comes as no surprise to Mr. Daugaard. “The whole world needs to take responsibility to reverse the current trend towards ecological degradation. Policies designed to protect our most important natural assets will have an important role to play in catalyzing economic development that contributes to green growth.”

Mr. O’Neill also said that by engaging with communities and stakeholders in New Zealand, GHC is also making a direct contribution to the response.

“As a major trading nation, New Zealand is a major player in international climate and environmental change negotiations. Our partnership with other civil society groups like the Global Human Coalition and the Global Climate Coalition is strengthening our influence to influence governments and the public. Our involvement in developing the New Zealand climate change response plan is part of a wider strategy to improve our national and international climate change exposure,” said Mr. O’Neill.

“The development of the response plan will be the culmination

How to add a dataset to d3.js

I’m trying to make a visualization of a large set of Wikipedia articles. The articles are being written each day and I’m using jQuery’s AJAX to update the pages.
I have created an object that stores the articles using these patterns:
“id”: “articleID”,
“description”: “Article description”,
“image”: “articleImageURL”

I’m using d3.js to plot graphs, but I’m not able to add my new data to the graph.
I’m new to d3 and I’m not sure how to do this. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I’m using d3.js to plot graphs, but I’m not able to add my new data to the graph.

You just need to extract the data from your object and add it to the path.
var article = {
“id”: “123”,
“description”: “Article description”,
“image”: “”

var svg =“#my-chart”);
var path = svg.append(“g”).attr(“id”, “my-chart”)

path.attr(“d”, line);

Where article is your object.
I’m not sure how to do this.

The above is a typical way to add elements to a d3.js chart. If you want to update d3.js charts in real-time, you’ll need to use a queue solution (there are several on the internet).

Sperm competition and the evolution of sperm-egg recognition.
Female sperm competition requires sperm of the sperm from her own mate to fertilize her eggs. In many dipterans, such as Drosophila, cockroaches and mosquitoes, the males inseminate successive females and mate with them. The eggs from the first insemination are destroyed by the female’s sperm and sperm use cues of the female’s eggs to direct the second insemination. Many dipterans have developed elaborate sperm competition tactics which allow males to use cues such as female anatomy to determine which of two females a male mates with. These
